Work in Progress
August 20th, 2005
It’s been a busy six weeks, and I owe folks an update on our knife status.
First, Camillus Cutlery was closed for vacation for two weeks in July. Then they started shipping our knives again, but the trophy shop took two weeks off to move to a new location.
We now have almost 50 Camillus BK2s, a dozen BK3s, 21 Gerber LMFs, and over one hundred Camillus 904 folding knives. Here’s a small sample of how things look right now:
As you can tell, not all knives are ready yet for prime time. I have to assemble the BK2s, hand-hone every last knive, package for shipping, make out customs forms, and stand in line at the post office. Somewhere among all that activity, I also send email back and forth to the troops, and maintain the database. Long before the last of these knives are gone, I’ll be ordering more, and going through the same process again.
So if any of the troops out there are wondering where their knives are, they’re here waiting. I have to apologize that I can only put in about an hour a day during the week, and much of that is email work. Only on weekends can I devote several hours a day to whittling down the backlog.
If you haven’t heard from me in a while, please email the webmaster here, and he will pass it on to me. Otherwise, I’ll continue to plug away at things, and get you the knife you were promised, and have so justly earned.
